Expected line-up to face Valencia in Man Utd’s Champions League group
The Italian champions are among the favorites to win this year’s competition following their signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, but a good start will be needed at the Mestalla.
Group H is a tough one to call, with Juve favorites but Valencia and Manchester United also strong contenders – alongside Swiss side Young Boys.
Max Allegri’s men have started the Serie A season in typically imperious form, with victories over Chievo, Lazio, Parma and Sassuolo resulting in 12 points from a possible 12.
Ronaldo broke his goals coring duck for the Old Lady with a brace against Sassuolo on Sunday, but his double was overshadowed by a red card for Douglas Costa, who spat in the face of Federico Di Francesco after already elbowing and headbutting him.
Allegri said the club will fine the Brazilian winger after the game, and while his suspension will only be domestic, he could well be left out for this game if the manager feels strongly enough.
Veteran defender Andrea Barzagli has been suffering from a calf injury, and is unlikely to return to the line-up for such a big game.
Midfield creator Miralem Pjanic is also a doubt after picking up a knock on international duty with Bosnia-Herzegovina earlier this month.
Allegri has tried 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and 4-3-1-2 formations so far as he looks to get the best out of Ronaldo – and we think he will stick with the latter herw.
Juventus (4-3-1-2): Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Khedira, Can, Matuidi; Dybala; Mandzukic, Ronaldo
